Finplay Privacy Policy

Welcome to Finplay, an educational mobile game developed by Finplay Education (“we,” “us,” or “our”) that teaches financial literacy through interactive gameplay. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your information when you use Finplay (the “App”), available on the Google Play Store, and our website at finplayeducation.com. Finplay is in Early Access, meaning features and data practices may evolve. We are committed to transparency and protecting your privacy, especially for children under 13, in compliance with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

1. Scope of This Policy

This policy applies to all users of Finplay, including children, teens, and adults, and covers data collected through the App and related services. By using Finplay, you (or your parent/guardian, if under 13) consent to this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

We collect the following types of data to provide and improve Finplay:

  • Account Information: If you create an account (optional), we may collect your email address or Google account ID to save progress.
  • Gameplay Inputs: Choices made in-game to track progress and personalize gameplay.
  • In-App Purchases: Payment information processed via Google Play Billing for premium features.
  • User Communications: Feedback or inquiries sent to finplaycompany@gmail.com.

2.2 Data Collected Automatically

  • Device Information: Device ID, OS version, model, and IP address to optimize performance and troubleshoot issues.
  • Usage Data: App interactions for analytics and improvements.
  • Advertising ID: If ads are enabled, we collect the Android Advertising ID for non-personalized ads (see Section 6 for children’s ads).
  • Analytics: Anonymous data via Google Analytics or Firebase to understand usage patterns.

2.3 Data Not Collected

We do not collect sensitive personal information unless explicitly provided by you for support purposes.

3. How We Use Your Data

We use collected data to:

  • Provide and personalize Finplay’s gameplay.
  • Process in-app purchases and deliver premium features.
  • Analyze usage to improve Finplay.
  • Respond to user inquiries and provide support.
  • Comply with legal obligations, such as COPPA and GDPR.

4. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We share data only as necessary:

    • Google Play for billing and analytics. Firebase for crash reporting and analytics.
    These providers are bound by strict privacy agreements.

  • No Sale of Data: We do not sell your data to third parties.

5. Children’s Privacy (COPPA Compliance)

Finplay is designed for a mixed audience, including children under 13, and complies with COPPA:

  • Limited Data Collection: For users under 13, we collect only data necessary for gameplay and avoid sensitive personal info.
  • Parental Consent: We require verifiable parental consent (via email or Google account verification) for children under 13 to create accounts or access premium features.
  • Non-Personalized Ads: Ads for users under 13 are non-personalized, excluding use of the Advertising ID.
  • Parental Rights: Parents can review, delete, or restrict their child’s data by contacting finplaycompany@gmail.com.
  • Clear Disclosures: We notify users/parents of data practices via this policy and in-app prompts.

6. GDPR Compliance (EU Users)

For users in the European Economic Area (EEA), we comply with GDPR:

  • Legal Basis: We process data based on consent, contract, or legitimate interests.
  • User Rights: You have the right to:

We retain data only as long as necessary for the purposes outlined. Account data is deleted upon request or after 12 months of inactivity. Analytics data is anonymized and retained indefinitely.

10. Early Access Note

Finplay is in Early Access, and features may change. We will update this policy as needed and notify users via the App or website.
